Formula and Logic

This calculator uses two core constraints to determine maximum pallet capacity: physical space and weight limits.

Space-Based Calculation

First, we calculate how many product units fit per pallet layer:

  • Fixed orientation: (Pallet Length ÷ Product Length) × (Pallet Width ÷ Product Width), rounded down to the nearest integer.
  • With rotation: We test both possible orientations (product length aligned to pallet length, and product width aligned to pallet length) and use the orientation that fits more units.

Next, we calculate maximum layers: (Pallet Max Stack Height ÷ Product Height), rounded down.

Total space-based units = Units per layer × Maximum layers.

Weight-Based Calculation

Maximum weight-based units = (Pallet Max Weight Capacity ÷ Product Weight per Unit), rounded down.

Final Capacity

Total units per pallet = Minimum of space-based units and weight-based units, to ensure neither physical nor weight limits are exceeded.
